i was wondering how some of you (ones who have been out of the org for a while) feel when you read the bible, or have you tried reading just the bible--not using the new world translation.. i still do believe in a higher being and enjoy reading the bible.
but it's a very different prospective i have on it now, my eyes have been opened and i'm reading it by itself without any wbts literature to twist the meaning of it.
i would like to quote matthew 6:15 "but if you do not forgive men their sins, your father will not forgive your sins.

i was at the meeting the other day and the po made a coment saying " we want workers not seat sitters" we'll what did he mean by that.

I always answered this question by saying that since we will be perfect we would be too careful to have such accidents.
It is like the question for Elders about running short on time while conducting the Watchtower study, do you just read the paragraphs? or just ask the questions and not read the paragraphs? The answer is, if you are an Elder you do not get in that situation.

Before I realized the Bible is a book of fairy tales I held on to some of the basic Watchtower teachings. For the three years I was a Christian and the five years that I practised Judaism I thought that,
God is not a Trinity.
The Soul is mortal.
There will be a Paradise Earth.
mine was when my mom signed me up to sit at a table at our local university.
we had to sit there and talk to students as they passed by our table.
a few people came up to start a conversation and i didn't even know what they were talking about.

In the 1970's the National Lampoon printed a satire of Awake! entitled Wise Up!
It had a picture of a paradise Earth where the faithfull are enjoying BLTs and the wicked are transformed into reptiles.
